CobWeed

Ok, so we've taken to letting our backyard grow rampant with weedage. Why? Because we're having it all ripped out and re-landscaped and in the meantime it makes a fun place to photograph.

Actually I've been noticing how my photos lately are very dark - even the bright sunflower had a very defeated posture...I don't know why, but it's interesting.
It's not very pretty, but I'm not feeling very pretty anyway. This one says to me "I will not succumb to your ways, I am not you." Of course that could just be me speaking to ... well someone.

Not Black and White

This is not a b&w photo, it was shot this way.
Because I'm going to get back to challenging myself to take a photo everyday even if just to get the juices flowing. I've been having some emotional blocks and it's time for me to build something out of those...

Time Out For Sean Sean

He got in trouble and put himself in the corner ... so I took photos like any good mother.

Macro Technology

This week's challenge - take a macro shot of something 'techie' - not just a close up, but a true macro shot with a shallow DOF...so I chose this soundcard's capacitor because I loved the color in the background (created by the color coded plugs on your computer). This was by window light only and because I took a few photos I had to keep moving over because the sun shifted quite a bit LOL. Also, these things are REALLY kinda tiny - like smaller than a tic-tac.

4th of July

We did fireworks in the street instead of going to see them at the fairgrounds this year. It was one of the first times Matt has been off for the 4th, so we thought we'd do something different. I haven't had street fireworks of my own EVER. We always used to watch the neighbors or friends ... so this was fun for me too :)

Birds of a Feather

The white peacock is mistaken for an Albino, but it is not - according to the sign at the zoo. The peacocks and chickens and roosters were just roaming free around the park and the zoo - very fun and a little crazy :) I love the colors - too bad they weren't trying to mate or scare off attackers lol - never got a raised plume.

Progression

The progression from childhood to adulthood - I won this challenge :)

Nonconformity

I took this for the Nonconformity Challenge (my topic). For me it was 2 levels of nonconformity - the obvious one - all those minivans and the lone SUV and because my photography group hates selective coloring so I decided to throw in some nonconforming selective coloring lol just for them. I didn't think I'd get any votes, but I actually did get a couple. I didn't place or anything, but I didn't expect to :)
This photo was too perfect to pass up.
