He didn't sit down beside me, but yes, he did frighten me away. Ok, not away, but enough to take a step back.
Remember Captain EO? Well when I was little it scared the heck out of me so I took off my 3D glasses and it wasn't so scary anymore and quite tolerable. Same thing with looking TTL. All this spider did was turn around and it was enough of a quick movement to make me rip the camera from my eye and take a stumbling step away.
